"You're losers!" Judge tells Terri's parents

The judge in the federal court in the U.S.A. reviewing Terri Schiavo's case has now ruled that she must be made to die of thirst, in spite of Congress' intervention, on the grounds that the parents who want to save her have failed to establish that there was a substantial likelihood of success in a future trial.

In other words, "Lose, because you're losers!"

Florida law forbids de-hydration to death unless there is "clear and convincing evidence" that the patient would have wanted it. In this case, there is nothing but an allegation by an interested party.

Terri's feeding tube was removed on Friday 18th March. Dying of thirst is a slow and painful business.
