KILLING ISN'T MERCY

In France a State Prosecutor has dropped charges against a mother and a doctor who co-operated in the killing of her handicapped son, (report, Daily Telegraph, 4th January 2006).

Mrs. Ann Farmer, who is herself disabled, commented today:

"Where the law does not allow killing, Governments get round the difficulty by failing to prosecute. Either way, disabled people lose out.

"Everyone supports efforts to save the lives of the trapped miners in Virginia, and to find the murderer of Katherine Horton. We need to convince Governments and the Courts that disabled people
have lives worth protecting, too."
