HAPPY RELEASE

She had a stroke
And the hospital decided
She'd better die.
They didn't like
Her 'quality of life'.
They needed the bed
And what was more
She was eighty-four.

Her daughter-in-law
Gladly agreed,
Her son sadly agreed.
But her brother was sure
she wanted to live
And kept on insisting
The hospital did something.

They refused to feed her
Or give any drugs
The brother arranged
For her to go to a good Catholic clinic,
But she died the day before the move. One day
We may die that way.
