Euthanasia and the Care of the
Elderly
Dr Brian Iddon MP and ALERT invited Wesley J
Smith and Professor Peter Millard, MD, FRCP, a distinguished
geriatrician, to be guest speakers on Tuesday 14th March 2006
at the House of Commons. Dr Brian Iddon MP explained, "Euthanasia
and the care of the elderly seem to be getting too close together.
Now people are expected to sign their own death warrants, with
legally binding Living Wills. These are supposed to give patients
'choice', but only one 'choice' will be respected. If you want
to opt in advance for continued treatment should you become helpless,
as Leslie Burke does, you are given no right to it"
